1914, by the late Sir Henry May, who in paragraph 1 (a),
a copy of which I attach, recommended a retransfer of these sites to Government and a credit to the War Department in the Military Lends Account of $160,350.
A reply was received in the late Mr. Secretary Harcourt's despatch No.47 of 25th February, 1915, which stated that the matter must remain in abeyance until after
the war.

I have now received a suggestion from the Military Authorities that they should reopen the question with the War Office. With this I have concurred.
agreement with the views of the late Sir Henry May as expressed in the paragraph of his despatch, a copy of which is enclosed; and, subject to your approval, I propose to accept a retransfer of the land in question, and to credit the War Department in the Military Lands Account with $160,350. The proposal is, of course, contingent on the

expression of agreement by the War Office.
